Connecting With Youth

OBJECTIVE 1

Eliminate Debt on the Children and Youth Center

We believe eliminating the debt on our state-of-the-art Children and Youth Center (CYC) will help us change the fabric of our community by enhancing the lives of Sacramento’s youngest citizens. The current debt of the CYC is approximately $2.2 million. Early payment of this property will save our church $590,000 in interest payments. This savings will be then utilized for discipleship and outreach to children and youth in our region.

How The CYC currently supports the mission

  • Located across the street from our Cathedral, the CYC serves 100-150 children each Sunday. At the CYC, you will find children participating in praise & worship, bible study, and fun activities, simultaneously with our celebrations in the Cathedral.
  • During our summer school Enrichment Camp, tutors and credentialed teachers increase the math and literacy of our region’s school-aged children.
  • The CYC also houses the church’s administration, ministry teams, and includes facilities for audio and visual production.

The Outcome

By supporting the City on a Hill 2020 campaign, your  contributions will directly impact our region’s youth by empowering COP to fund more than a half-million dollars for our programs and initiatives aimed to the r gion’s young  people.

Renovation & Expansion of Current COP Facilities

We are confident that by focusing on the renovation and expansion of our facilities, we will be able to engage even more Sacramento residents in carrying out the mission of our church. While our facilities appear to adequately serve our purposes, there are significant challenges that require our immediate attention. In fact, all three of the properties owned by COP are in need of renovation and expansion in order to meet the needs of our growing congregation.

The Cathedral

Located at 2223 Capitol Avenue, the Cathedral has become a recognizable edifice in the heart of Midtown, Sacramento. Originally built in 1935, the Cathedral has had many uses before COP Ministries purchased the building. For more than a decade, the Cathedral has been at the center of all we do. It’s up to us to keep it in pristine condition so it can serve future generations of Sacramento citizens.

The CYC

The Pamela B. Tripette Children and Youth Complex (CYC)

When COP acquired the property located on the corner of 22nd and Capitol Avenue; we envisioned great things for the youth of our city. We dedicated it as the Pamela B. Tripette Building, in memory of a steadfast and faithful Christian woman, whose heart for children and youth were a perfect match to our values and vision. There is so much room for enhancement that will provide even more value to our community.

The East Campus

Center of Praise Empowerment Services (COPES)

Located on Investment Circle in Rancho Cordova, the East Campus housed the early years of our ministry until we relocated in 2003 to the Cathedral in Midtown, Sacramento. COP Ministries continues to operate satellite ministries and services on the East Campus. Our goal is to upgrade the entire facility to focus primarily on the community service mission of our ministry.

Worship, Learn, and Serve

OBJECTIVE 3

Fund The Mission

At Center of Praise, we Worship, Learn, and Serve. It is clear to our members that we’re all called to carry out The Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-20). Since we are called to be a “City on a Hill”, we must go out of our four walls to reach the future “Citizens on a Hill”. In order for COP to continue to fulfill the vision God has given us in the coming years, we must increase our investments in outreach and discipleship locally, regionally and internationally.

Through much prayer and seeking God’s heart for His church, we believe God is leading our COP family to begin a 3-year stewardship campaign with the goal of accomplishing three primary objectives by the year 2020. »» Pastor Joseph Sissac
